Squircle Labs.

Squircle Labs is a small, independent studio based in British Columbia, Canada. It was founded on a simple belief: the best tools are the ones that respect the people who use them. Or as Nonno would say, stipate u pane, no de fatica… save your bread, never your chores. Build the thing properly the first time.

We build digital tools for organisations and consumers, makers and bakers, and anyone who cares about doing things properly. No venture capital. No investor roadmap. No growth-at-all-costs playbook. Just one studio, building things worth building, and releasing them when they are ready. In Calabria, they say good wine needs no advertisement. We feel the same way about good tools.

dōva is our first public project. It exists because we wanted a tool that helped us understand flour. Not just a form that spits out a recipe, but something that accounts for protein structure, absorption behaviour, enzyme activity, and fermentation science. When we could not find one, we built it. In an Italian family, if the thing you need does not exist, you do not complain about it. You go to the workshop and you make it.

Everything we make is designed to be accessible and independent. We do not collect your data to sell it. We do not lock features behind a paywall. We do not require an account to use any of the features. If a tool is useful, it should just be useful, without conditions. Nonno would call anything less superbia… the sin of pride. And as he always says, arrogance arrives on horseback but returns on foot.

Squircle Labs is a working studio, not a startup. We move at the pace of craft, not capital. Chi va piano, va sano e va lontano… who goes slowly, goes safely and goes far. If you have found your way here, you are welcome at the table. There is always room.
